n. either of two muscles of the shoulder, extending from the scapula to the humerus. The teres major draws the arm towards the body and rotates it inwards; the teres minor rotates the arm outwards.

Family: Compositae; Asteraceae.

Habitat: Tropical Himalayas from Kumaon to Sikkim; Bihar and Central India.

Action: Herb—used for dysmen- orrhoea, and for the treatment of wounds and ulcers. Flower-heads— ascaricidal.
