Habitat: Western Ghats and hills of Peninsular India.

Folk: Baaphali (Gujarat), Duku.

Action: Fruits—carminative, diuretic, stimulant. An infusion is used for gastric and intestinal troubles.

The seeds and roots gave imperatorin, byakangelicin and osthol. Seeds, in addition, gave phelopterin, colum- bianadin and byakangelicol.
