Noncompaction: From 1 Different Sources


n. a congenital condition in which the myocardium has a spongelike appearance with only a thin rim of functioning heart muscle. This is normal in the fetus but when it persists into childhood or adult life heart failure commonly ensues, although the age of onset and severity are very variable.
