pl. n. a group of *oral hypoglycaemic drugs, including repaglinide and nateglinide, used for treating type 2 *diabetes mellitus. They act by stimulating insulin release from the pancreas and should be taken before each meal.
(oral antihyperglycaemic drug) one of the group of drugs that reduce the level of glucose in the blood and are taken by mouth for the treatment of type 2 *diabetes mellitus.
