The process of searching for mosquito larvae in a defined area. Larvae are collected and taken to the laboratory for identification and enumeration.
An investigation in which information is systematically collected but in which the experimental method is not used. A population survey may be conducted by face-to-face inquiry, by self-completed questionnaires, by telephone, by postal service, or in some other way. Each method has its advantages and disadvantages. a rolling survey carried out annually (1971–2007) in Great Britain by the *Office for National Statistics. It included questions about the household and questions to be completed by all individuals aged over 16 within the household. It covered a wide variety of topics, such as health, employment, pensions, education, and income. It was succeeded (2007–12) by the general lifestyle survey.
