Fluocinolone: From 2 Different Sources


Fluocinolone is one of the CORTICOSTEROIDS and is applied to the skin as a cream, lotion or ointment. It is more potent than hydrocortisone. It must not be given by mouth.

Side-effects include burning, itching, and local eruptions. Administered as an implant into the vitreous humour, it is used to treat oedema associated with diabetic *retinopathy.
